We are in the process of organizing an Ambassadors corps to help spread the Book of Cooks message to local communities. What is the Ambassadors Program?
The Ambassadors program is a network of volunteers, comprised of outstanding personal chefs, cooks, caterers, foodies (and yes, also kitchen klutzes) with demonstrated leadership qualities who are passionately committed to a myriad of food-related issues, including:
•Promoting local growing/cooking, healthy eating, food safety, culinary diversity, use of locally grown and indigenous ingredients, and slow food among others
•Providing mentorship to foodies and culinary students who are starting independent businesses as professional cooks, caterers, food artisans, or personal chefs
•Educating the public about personal cheffing as a profession, and food sourcing as an alternative to cooking at home or dining out
Ambassadors help promote these causes and spread the Book of Cooks message to their local communities by coordinating or participating in local meet-ups, tweet-ups, webinars and board discussions.
Opportunities:
•Access to free webinars starting in 4Q 2009
•Participation in tastings of newly introduced food products (US only)
•Access to exclusive discounts and promotions
•A mention and potential guest post on the Book of Cooks blog
•A press release that can be posted or distributed to media outlets in your city.
Qualifications/Eligibility:
•Must be a die-hard foodie
•Three years of experience in the culinary industry (e.g. personal chef, chef, sous chef, dietitian, food artisan, caterer, culinary school student or instructor)
•Applicants with 10+ votes on Book of Cooks.com will receive higher consideration
•Kitchen klutzes are also welcome – but must be insanely passionate and curious about food
•Demonstrated commitment to one or more of the causes described in the preceding paragraphs
